Friedensreich Hundertwasser Regentag Dunkelbunt - actually Friedrich Stowasser - was an Austrian painter, graphic artist and architect. He studied briefly at the Academy and travelled to Italy, France, Morocco and Japan, among other places. In 1981, he was appointed to the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. His works are particularly well known for their intensely bright colours, with nature also playing a major role in their conception. In the 1970s, Hundertwasser began to focus increasingly on printmaking. His experiments with different printing techniques resulted in his large graphic oeuvre.
