Bernard Buffet (1928-1999) - French painter and printmaker. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts together with Maurice Boitel and Louis Vuillemoz. His representational paintings express a mood of anxiety, and one can find in them expressive deformation of shapes defined by hard contours and dark colors.
