Kinderturnen is a series of more than a hundred collages made between 2012 and 2015, based on original materials taken from the textbook Children's Gymnastics, published in Leipzig in 1955. A Collection of Exercises in Photographs. Exercise instructions and movement games were illustrated with photographs showing correctly and incorrectly performed tasks,whichwere juxtaposed on adjacent pages. These incorrect executions inspired the artist to create the author's choreography of children's figures, where arrangements of bodies create disturbing physical and mental constructions. BIO
Visual artist, author of art books. She works with photography, collage, installation, applied graphics and film. She is interested in the choreography of the bodyand inscribing it into certain structures or constructions as a form that servesboththeattempt torestore the proper order of things in the social and family field, as well as the search for order in the urban fabric. Graduate of the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk (2000). Currently a doctoral student at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies at the University of Arts in Poznan. Multiple scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Mayor of the City of Gdansk. Founder of the JAMI Issue publishing house. Her works have been presented at dozens of individual and group exhibitions, at home and abroad.
