Biography
Karolina Zimnicka is an artist and ceramicist, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Her practice focuses on the relationship between the body, matter, and the process of transformation. The objects she creates straddle the line between vessels, sculptures, and autonomous spatial forms.
She draws inspiration from the physicality of the body, geological forms, and organic processes occurring in nature. Texture, layering, the trace of the hand, and the unpredictability of fire are essential to her—the process becomes an integral part of the language of form.
Her works have been exhibited in Poland and abroad, including at the 5th UNICUM International Ceramics Triennial in Ljubljana and the 16th International Ceramics Biennale in Manises.
