Traces of dampstaining, extensive entry in Russian in part 1 on pre-title page, own stamp and signature on title page. Binding repaired, spines in cloth, metal corners. Fine condition. (1st ed.: Warsaw 1778-84). The work is one of the first attempts to create a novel of manners. "Pan Podstoli" was a role model for Krasicki: "...be like him, love the national tradition, but at the same time follow the path of moderate progress..., and the Polish nation will never perish". Very rare edition.
