20-mark voucher fromthe Łódź Ghetto, 1940—[serial number type 2] —illustrated in Czesław Miłczak’s catalog.
A piece of an extremely rare variant, printed on watermarked paper, with red numerals, type 2 numerator [series starting with17XXXX], with two dashes under the “o” in “No, ” and numerals 4.88 mm high .
Serial number type 2 is very rare in Łódź ghetto banknotes and appears only on the 2m, 5m, 10m, 20m, and 50-mark denominations; for most of these, only a few surviving pieces are known. Every banknote of this variety that appears in an auction is a major event for collectors of this period.
Condition confirmed by a corresponding note in the GDA grading.
