Biography
Art duo founded by Diogo Raus from Porto and Jagoda Cierniak from Opole. Diogo is a painter, muralist and illustrator associated with graffiti and street art since 2000. Jagoda is a photographer, coordinator of art and social projects and a graduate of contemporary culture at Jagiellonian University. They have been creating together since 2017. Their first work together was a mural in Porto, part of the landscape of the old city on the UNESCO World Heritage List. MOTS' works are primarily murals, paintings and interdisciplinary projects. The main motif of their work is abstract forms and shapes, inspired by surreal depictions of emotions, everyday life and sometimes reactions to social problems. The artists are known for their murals in public spaces throughout Europe. They have collaborated and created works for major street art organizations and festivals, including URBAN NATION, STRAAT Museum, Calle Libre, POW! WOW! Rotterdam, Spacejunk, GAU. Their works can be seen in almost 30 European cities, including Porto, Lisbon, Strasbourg, Amsterdam, Opole, Berlin, Luxembourg, Innsbruck, Grenoble, Athens, Tirana.
