Anna Pleń is a painter, zootechnical engineer, and interior architect. She graduated from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (2011) and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (2015). From 2011 to 2015, she was a multiple recipient of the PJATK Rector’s Scholarship for academic excellence. Between 2014 and 2024, she pursued artistic and design work in Warsaw under the pseudonym Ceci Bloom.
Since 2024, she has lived and worked in Kraków’s Kazimierz district. Nature has always held a special place in her life. Ever since childhood, she has been interested in plants, gardens, and the processes occurring in nature. Her studies at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) allowed her to deepen her knowledge of botany and to observe the plant world even more closely—a world that remains the primary source of inspiration for her work to this day.
She creates paintings using watercolor and acrylic on canvas. Her painting practice is based on observing nature, without striving for a photographic representation of it. She begins the creative process by reviewing her own collection of plant photographs. In them, she seeks out tensions, contrasts, chiaroscuro, and intricate forms. She sketches out the composition only schematically, leaving room for intuition, which plays a key role in her work.
She builds her paintings using patches of color, simplified forms, and dynamic gestures. For her, painting is a process full of movement—she repeatedly approaches and steps back from the canvas, leaving successive traces of paint. She is interested in seeking a balance between realism and abstraction, between a refined composition and the spontaneity of gesture. For her, nature serves as a starting point for stories about emotions, experience, and the beauty found in the diversity of forms.
Her works and reproductions are held in private collections in Poland and abroad.
She is currently preparing to participate in the group exhibition “A Few Sighs,” to be held July 9–22, 2026, at the Olympic Center in Warsaw.
