Biography
He studied at the Kraków School of Fine Arts under W. Łuszczkiewicz and J. Matejko. He continued his studies in Vienna and Munich. He painted cityscapes of Vienna, Munich, Venice, and Prague, and after returning to Poland from his studies, he painted views of Kraków, Lviv, and Warsaw. He exhibited his paintings at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (TPSP) in Kraków, at the Krywult Salon in Warsaw, and also abroad. In collaboration with Juliusz and Wojciech Kossak, he created several series of watercolors related to Kraków: “The Jewels of the City of Kraków,” “St. Mary’s Church in Kraków,” and “Wawel: Treasure Trove of the Past, Seat of the Piasts and Jagiellons”. Tondos’s works were also published as postcards by the Polish Painters’ Salon publishing house.
