Giacomo Borgogno is a historic estate, distinguished for the region, whose wines have been served and opened at many important national celebrations. Best known for its Riserva wines, as well as single vineyard labels: from Cannubi, Fossati, and being their monopole Liste.
Organic farming, some of it certified, fermentation in concrete vats and storing the wines in cellars for extended periods are the producer's hallmarks.
The set consists of three hot vintages (2010 a bit cooler compared to the other two) and allows one to trace how the producer's style has changed over several decades. Interestingly, the grape harvest for the wines from the extreme vintages of this set took place at almost the same time of year. Virtually unchanged were the winemaking and ripening practices, nor does the 2010 rely on fruit from all those parcels that were the basis of earlier vintages.
